first_imgAsia-Pacific provider of distribution products and services for travel agencies, Abacus, is streamlining the ownership structure of its Australia and NZ distribution businesses acquiring 100 per cent ownership of Sabre Pacific.ABACUS International Holdings is a consortium of 11 airlines in Asia-Pacific: All Nippon Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, China Airlines, DragonAir, EVA Airways, Garuda Indonesia, Malaysia Airlines, Philippine Airlines, Royal Brunei Airlines, SilkAir and Singapore Airlines.  As a part of the company’s distribution plan for the APAC region, the convergence creates significant opportunities for Sabre and Abacus.Sabre told e-Travel Blackboard the leverage of strengths from both businesses for continued growth in APAC will offer greater support for all customers.  It is however, business as usual for the Sabre Pacific brand with all products, staff and structure operating just the same in the market as it is today.
