Oklahoma assistant coach Mike Stoops appeared to accuse Charles Walker of quitting on his teammates.Just days after Charles Walker told Bob Stoops that he was leaving the team to prepare for the NFL Draft, Oklahoma defensive coordinator and brother of Bob Stoops, Mike Stoops, criticized Walker for his decision.Walker has missed the last six games after suffering a concussion in the Sooners game against TCU. The defensive tackle is projected as a high pick in this year’s NFL Draft. According to NBCSports, the concussion Walker suffered in the game against TCU was the defensive tackle’s second in just 10 months. It appears he made a business decision to leave the team in order to prepare for his future.Well, Mike Stoops wasn’t having any of it. Stoops called out Walker for quitting on his teammates:“Quitting on your teammates is hard to take, as a coach. That’s everything we stand for — our commitment to one another and, for whatever reason, that wasn’t there for him. He thought this was a better avenue so you would have to ask him for those (answers). …“[Y]ou can’t have guys coming and going and have a group of players committed to what they’re doing day in and day out, putting all the time and energy into it. It’s not fair to the players that are on our team if they’re not committed to the team.”Oklahoma is fighting for a Big 12 title and perhaps a spot in the College Football Playoff. The Sooners have two games remaining, against West Virginia this week and a rivalry game against Oklahoma State next weekend.
England and Scotland have been building up to their World Cup opener for months but the day has finally arrived that the teams will get to face off at Nice’s Allianz Riviera. The Lionesses approach the tournament as one of the favourites to go all the way in France, though they suffered a hiccup in their preparations for the tournament with a 1-0 loss to New Zealand in a friendly in Brighton last week.Scotland, meanwhile, have qualified for the tournament for the first time and are seeking to continue an undefeated run of five matches that has seen them defeat Brazil and Jamaica in the last couple of months. Match Preview After finishing third at the 2015 World Cup in Canada, England intend to go all the way in France, having approached the tournament in a bullish manner. They received something of a knock, therefore, when they suffered a shock 1-0 loss to New Zealand in front of 20,000 in Brighton at the start of the month. Though they dominated the game, playing with an XI that was a little below full strength, it was not the ideal send off prior to Nice.“The challenge now is for us all to perform on the big stage,” manager Phil Neville said after that loss.“We’ve talked long and hard about it, we’ve not been shy about our expectations. Now we need to deliver. That’s my challenge and my excitement. We’ve dreamt of this moment all our lives.”When we get to it we’re going to have to perform. The players are deflated because of the crowd. I think they know really that it’s all about the Scotland game now. Nothing in the Denmark or New Zealand game was going to change our thinking,” he said.Kerr’s side, meanwhile, were watched by a record crowd of 18,500 as they defeated Jamaica 3-2 in Glasgow on May 28, Erin Cuthbert’s long-range goal the highlight of a satisfactory night for the World Cup debutantes.“We experimented a bit. We wanted to see players in different positions. The most important thing for us is to go away and reflect,” the manager said after the Hampden encounter.“As much as there were good things in the game, there are things we need to improve on. Jamaica were very direct and they have some very quick players and at times we struggled to cope with that.”Nevertheless, Scotland travel to Nice undefeated in their last five internationals and hoping to stretch that record to six against the Auld Enemy.
Willian claims he will be inheriting the Chelsea number ten shirt from Eden Hazard, with Christian Pulisic seemingly set to fill a different jersey.A new arrival at Stamford Bridge would have seemed a logical choice to fill the boots of a departed star turn in West London.Hazard has completed a big-money move to Real Madrid, leaving behind a sizeable void. Article continues below Editors’ Picks Emery out of jail – for now – as brilliant Pepe papers over Arsenal’s cracks What is Manchester United’s ownership situation and how would Kevin Glazer’s sale of shares affect the club? Ox-rated! Dream night in Genk for Liverpool ace after injury nightmare Messi a man for all Champions League seasons – but will this really be Barcelona’s? United States international Pulisic is among those set to be charged with the task of trying to counter the departure of a talismanic figure. He has, however, been eager to play down expectations and is keen to avoid being billed as the next Hazard for Chelsea. With that in mind, the weight of filling the No. 10 spot is set to be passed elsewhere.Willian, with six years in English football under his belt, is ready to step in and become a creative focal point for the Blues. He has donned number 22 since being snapped up from Anzhi Makhachkala, but says he has already been informed of a change in attire.“Number ten is now mine. The club has said it will change [my shirt number] and it will be mine,” Willian told Desimpedidos. The Brazil international is accustomed to filling that shirt and is looking forward to stepping into Hazard’s shoes. He added: “I have always liked playing with number ten.“Since I was a kid playing indoors football, I have always used the number ten. At Corinthians I was also number ten.”With Willian set to succeed Hazard as ten, Pulisic will be taking on a different number. His first outing for Chelsea, in a pre-season clash with Kawasaki Frontale, saw him take on the 24 shift. That squad number is up for grabs in the Blues’ first team squad. If he takes it, then the path is cleared for Willian to follow in Hazard’s footsteps.Callum Hudson-Odoi could have been another contender to take the number ten shirt, but he is just 18 years of age and currently nursing his way back from an Achilles injury. There is also uncertainty over his future at Stamford Bridge, although new Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is eager to get the exciting England international winger tied down to fresh terms. LAS VEGAS, NV – MARCH 07: Arizona State Sun Devils cheerleaders pose before the team’s first-round game of the Pac-12 basketball tournament against the Colorado Buffaloes at T-Mobile Arena on March 7, 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Buffaloes won 97-85. (Photo by Ethan Miller/Getty Images)In four years of the College Football Playoff, the Pac-12 has been left out twice. The Pac-12 Networks aren’t nearly as fully-flushed out as the Big Ten and SEC equivalents. The schools are starting to fall behind in terms of revenue. When the Power Five era began, after the Big East football league got poached and divided up, many thought the ACC would be the most vulnerable league. Further expansion drove that narrative. The Big Ten took Maryland from the league, adding the populous DMV region to its marketshare. Then it was the Big 12 that seemed to have the most issues. The league has the smallest base of schools, and was famously left out of the 2014 College Football Playoff, when Baylor and TCU finished fifth and sixth and were jumped late by Ohio State. The Longhorn Network and Texas’s (arguably outsized) influence over the league had some wondering whether other schools could look to leave. There have been rumors about Oklahoma looking elsewhere, which would really shift the balance. However, less than five years into this current Power Five set-up, it is the Pac-12 that looks the weakest. The West Coast league definitely receives less attention, there seems to be a fan enthusiasm gap, and coaches and administrators are beginning to grow weary of the issues that the league faces. CBS Sports‘ Dennis Dodd spoke to a few on-the-record Pac-12 higher-ups who are frustrated with the league.“I’m fairly critical of the Pac-12 organization,” Cal chancellor Carol Christ said late last year.[…]“The gap between us and the other [leagues] continues to grow,” he said. “We’ll be competitively disadvantaged even moreso. … That’s real money in terms of being able to compete, support facilities, support coaches and support programs.”The sky is not falling out West but cracks are beginning to appear in a once-solid foundation. First, there are those vocal critics. Christ, Anderson and new Washington State president Kirk Schulz have weighed in.“This is a concern of the Pac-12 presidents, and I can tell you it’s a large discussion point with meetings with the commissioner at every single meeting,” Schulz said. “… The Pac-12 schools have got to be competitive with the ACC, the SEC and the Big Ten and Big 12, and we’re falling behind.”The easiest thing to point to might be the Pac-12 Networks, which many in the heart of the league’s footprint can’t even see. Distribution of the network is a major issue, and it is way behind the Big Ten and SEC’s outputs. The ACC is also launching a linear network with ESPN, much like the SEC has. As Dodd notes, and I outline above, part of this is cyclical. However, the Pac-12 hasn’t exactly helped itself with scheduling, or success on the courts and fields. The thing working most in its favor may also be location, even if “East Coast bias” is an issue. There isn’t an obvious landing spot for most Pac-12 programs.[CBS Sports]

COLUMBUS, OH – NOVEMBER 24: Head Coach Jim Harbaugh of the Michigan Wolverines looks up at the scoreboard in the third quarter after the Ohio State Buckeyes scored at Ohio Stadium on November 24, 2018 in Columbus, Ohio. Ohio State defeated Michigan 62-39. (Photo by Jamie Sabau/Getty Images)Having sent several tight ends to the NFL over the last few years, the Michigan Wolverines are attempting to use their recent success at the position as a recruiting tool. Unfortunately, their use of “alternate facts” in one particular recruiting poster is getting the team raked over the coals.A new graphic released by Michigan offensive coordinator Josh Gattis refers to the team as “Tight End U,” and points out how often Michigan tight ends get the ball compared to other top programs like Oklahoma, Alabama, Notre Dame, Michigan State, Clemson, and LSU.However, Iowa assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Kelvin Bell was quick to point out that Wolverines were seriously misconstruing the facts with their graphic. While the 167 catches and 2,157 receiving yards were higher than any of the teams listed, the numbers aren’t even the highest among tight ends in Michigan’s own conference – let alone the rest of college football.Michigan football uses alternative facts in a recruiting graphic. Iowa football answers off the top rope.??? pic.twitter.com/d4WindAO0i— Eleven Warriors (@11W) February 4, 2019The moniker “Tight End U” is most frequently attributed to the Iowa Hawkeyes. As Bell pointed out, Iowa’s tight ends had 178 catches for 2,559 yards and 32 touchdowns in that span. One clever fan decided to “fix” the graphic for Michigan’s coach:@CoachK_Bell @gkittle46 It’s ok, I fixed it for them! #Hawkeyes #TEU pic.twitter.com/2ZVk25FK4a— TOE CMOHAWK (@CMO_HAWKEYE) February 4, 2019Another factor that does give Iowa the edge in the “Tight End U” conversation is how well their tight ends perform upon reaching the NFL.While the Hawkeyes have had fewer tight ends drafted by NFL teams than Michigan, Iowa’s have arguably had better success. No Michigan tight end that has been drafted has ever made the Pro Bowl, while three Iowa tight ends have. The most recent Iowa tight end to make the Pro Bowl was George Kittle, who represented the 49ers in the game this past year.

(Photo by Chris Covatta/Getty Images)The saga of five-star wide receiver Bru McCoy took a wild turn this week when reports emerged that he was considering a return to USC, where he originally enrolled earlier this year. But Texas, which landed McCoy via transfer shortly after his arrival at USC, is going all out to make sure he stays in Austin.According to Texas insider Anwar Richardson, the Longhorns are sending a big contingent to meet with McCoy and his family this week. Per the report, head coach Tom Herman, starting quarterback Sam Ehlinger, receivers coach Drew Mehringer, and director of player development Kevin Washington are all flying out to McCoy’s home in California.McCoy is the No. 9 overall prospect in the country. He is also the No. 1 athlete in the country, and the No. 2 prospect from the state of California. He enrolled at USC in early-January, only to decommit several weeks later and join the Longhorns.Sources close to Texas football coach Tom Herman told me he, quarterback Sam Ehlinger, receivers coach Drew Mehringer and Kevin Washington, director of player development, are flying out to California on Wednesday to meet with freshman receiver Bru McCoy and his family— Anwar Richardson (@AnwarRichardson) May 29, 2019McCoy was a massive get for the Longhorns’ Class of 2019. His move to Texas in January led to the school earning the No. 3 ranking in the country by 247Sports.Losing McCoy would likely cause Texas’ ranking to drop – and potentially fall below arch-rival Oklahoma, ranked No. 6.Suffice it to say, the Longhorns are probably going to do whatever they can to keep him under wraps next season.
If ESPN’s FPI predictions for the Maize and Blue come to fruition, you’re looking at a disappointing 8-4 season in Ann Arbor. According to the FPI, Michigan is projected to lose to Wisconsin, Penn State, Notre Dame and Ohio State.Keep in mind, these projections can and will change over the coming weeks. But the reality is, Michigan is about to be challenged extensively over the next couple of months. The talent is there to withstand that challenge, but actually doing so will be difficult. EVANSTON, IL – SEPTEMBER 29: Head coach Jim Harbaugh of the Michigan Wolverines leads his team to the field before a game against the Northwestern Wildcats at Ryan Field on September 29, 2018 in Evanston, Illinois. (Photo by Jonathan Daniel/Getty Images)Everyone knows this season is a critical one for Michigan. The Wolverines have yet to beat Ohio State or win the Big Ten under Jim Harbaugh.Right now, Michigan is ranked in the top 10 after two games. But even at 2-0, there have been some concerns. The Wolverines struggled offensively in last weekend’s narrow win over Army. Now, the schedule is about to really heat up.A road trip to Wisconsin is next on the docket, and while there are games against doormats Rutgers and Illinois in the coming weeks, those are really the only “easy” contests left on the schedule.

Amazing skincare. And now, the venerable Clarins Group has released their latest line for the American market, Clarins Men. We took a few weeks to try out some of Clarins’ new products so we could bring you this primer on French Skincare and also to find out whether or not the French really do live up to their reputation for excellence in everything Lifestyle.2-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser, $24All men need an exfoliating product in their skincare regime. Whether it’s a physical sponge, brush, or cleansing gel like this one, exfoliating your skin once or twice a week removes dead skin cells and impurities all while cleansing. Clarins 2-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser combines the deep cleaning and purifying powers of wintergreen extract to lift off dead skin cells a eliminate dullness, all the while smelling pleasant and fresh. This particular exfoliating cleanser did a great job at brightening and toning the skin’s appearance without feeling like you’ve taken a piece of sandpaper to your face. Use first in your daily skincare ritual.Anti-Aging Revitalizing Gel, $40When trying out this product, what was immediately noticeable after application was how the skin felt much tighter. You could almost hear the nascent jowls being pulled back into the neck. And after a few days, there really did seem to be some visible improvement in fine lines and wrinkles as well. The clarity of our skin also improved after a week of testing. Made with a combination of Goji Berry to boost cell performance and Bison Grass to fight off the first signs of aging, this product provides a new can’t-miss-step in your skincare regime. This is not a moisturizer and it does contain alcohol (which could explain the tightening skin), so remember to lotion up after the gel has time to absorb into your skin, otherwise you might wind up a little dry by mid-day. The bottle of this gel is also pretty bad-ass: simply twist the bottle in the opposite direction of the cap to reveal a rising pump and spout. Turn the other way to lock it all away. Very NASA.Super Moisture Balm, $32This was hands down our favorite product out of the bunch. When Clarins says ‘super moisture’ they mean: Super. Moisture. This balm was like applying a much needed drink to our thirsty face. And it should be. Clarins has done their research. Using an innovative new derivative of hyaluronic acid (which holds up to 1,000 times its weight in moisture), Calcium Hyaluronate, the Super Moisture Balm penetrates deeply into the skin, hydrating and protecting the skin’s lipid barrier. The balm also includes natural plant extracts such as Alpine Sea Holly for reduction in redness and razor irritation, Bison Grass for toning, and Sunflower Auxins which moisturizes and energizes. This balm is the perfect bookend to your day without getting gloopy. Apply once before you leave the house in the morning and once before going to bed at night. Repeat for twenty years and you’ll look relatively young forever.Shave Ease Oil, $28Like most shave oils, this one did a great job at softening facial hair and readying the skins for its date with the blade. Altogether though, there was nothing particularly special about this shave oil. We’ve reviewed products that perform just as well and smell a little better. Clarins Shave Ease Oil is perhaps the only product from this bunch that you can feel confident in taking a pass on.Smooth Shave Foaming Gel, $20We at The Manual are big fans of traditional, thick shaving cream. So we were pleasantly surprised to discover that a tiny, dime-sized amount of Clarins Smooth Shave foaming shave gel in the palm of our hand would, with the addition of a little water and some lathering, result in one of the richest, most luxurious shaving creams we’ve had the privilege to test out. Clarins has formulated this shave gel with “active surface texture,” ensuring optimum razor performance and Grindelia extract to prevent bacterial growth (read: razor burn and ingrown hairs) and, unlike most shave gels, this one is alcohol-free, so it won’t dry you out.HydraQuench Moisture Replenishing Lip Balm, $24I know what you’re thinking. $24 for lip balm? Really? Yes. Really. And it’s worth it. A little bit of this stuff goes a long way. The tiniest of drops of this super thick, super hydrating, super rich lip balm will leave your poor chapped lips soft and smooth for an entire day. Meant to “recreate lips’ perfect climate,” Clarins HydraQuench lip balm contains essential rose wax, a natural way to smooth and protect the lips, as well as Ceramide 3 to repair chapped and dried lips by balance the skin’s natural barriers, and natural rice oil, which boost microcirculation and will make your lips look pinker. But don’t worry, this is a subtle healthy pink–not a rose red lipstick situation we’re talking about here. The TakeawayOn the whole, Clarins Men products get the thumbs up from us. While you may not want to go out and buy the whole line yourself, a few of these products could work well as a compliment to your pre-existing skincare cache. Your best best are the shaving cream and super moisture balm. But you can’t go wrong with the lip balm. Seriously. Sprint Through Airport Security With These TSA-Approved Men’s Grooming Kits

FGS Hessen was tasked to provide assistance on completion of a Replenishment at Sea (RAS) with UK ship, RFA Wave RulerFGS Hessen was able to reach the stranded dhow within a couple of hours, having already dispatched its Lynx helicopter to investigate en route. The Yemini crew was very happy when the Navy frigate appeared over the horizon and they told the German sailors that they had been adrift for a total of five days. FGS Hessen’s chefs provided much-needed food and water for the fishermen and within two hours the German engineers had repaired the dhow’s engines, allowing them to proceed on their way. Before the German warship returned to counter-piracy patrols, the dhow’s master expressed his heartfelt thanks for helping his crew. This incident at sea once again showed the close cooperation between the different international missions within the Gulf of Aden and off the coast of Somalia, as well as the ability of EU Naval Force units to respond to requests for assistance whilst conducting counter-piracy operations.
